"The Ocotillo Family & More"


May 9-May 11, 2008 at the Inn Suites Hotel


The 2008 Sonoran VII conference will feature some of the eleven species of the Ocotillo (Fouquieriaceae) Family. Friday evening, May 9, will kick-off this fabulous week-end with a plated dinner for all TCSS members ($10.00 each, free to conference registrants and $20 for extra guest tickets) with your choice of beef, chicken or vegetarian complete dinner and followed by a very special presentation by Susan Carter Holmes, botanist and taxonomist at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Following her presentation the Plant show and all sales areas will be open for your early shopping pleasure.

Saturday, May 10, 2009, The show and sales areas will be open to the general public and will feature speakers and workshops, lunch, silent auction for conference registrants and a special barbecue dinner ($25 each) followed by Jude McNally, Managing Director of the Arizona Poison and Drug Information Center talking about those critters that you do not want to see when you are out looking at cacti and succulents in our Sonoran Desert.

Rescued saguaro and golden hedgehogs will be for sale from 9am to 5pm on Saturday, May 10th and Sunday, May 11th from 9am to 3pm. Come early for best selection.

The Conference ends on Sunday, May 11, with presentations, workshops, and a closing luncheon and speaker. The Show and Sales will also be open to the public on Sunday. Since Mothers day is May 11, we will have a free plant for the first 200 Moms who attends the show and sale.
